Business Education & Work Force Development Committee

The Education Committee encourages on-going development of interaction between businesses and the education community. The Committee actively promotes quality education to provide a well-trained workforce in the West Plains area. This committee also provides opportunities for students to learn about the free enterprise system and helps provides students with scholarships.


Legislative & Policy Committee

This group reviews and develops public policy positions that are “pro-business and pro-West Plains.” Surveys key local constituent groups and Chamber members to identify legislative issues of high importance to the business community. Monitors and keeps members regularly informed on pending legislation of business interest at the federal, state and local levels. Liaisons with elected officials and experts representing the West Plains, on various topics as the Chamber’s positions are developed, communicated and lobbied.


Member Relations Committee

Membership is the lifeblood of the West Plains Chamber of Commerce, and the role of the Membership Value Committee is to continue to grow the membership in programs, activities and benefits to add value for existing members. The committee assists in familiarizing each new member with how to get the most from Chamber membership – involvement. The committee may help match members with areas of involvement in which they can thrive. This committee works closely with the Executive Director to continue the growth and enhance benefits for Chamber members.


Economic Development Committee

This Committee’s purpose is to further the economic stability and growth of the West Plains area focusing on land use and transportation issues effecting businesses and developing economic opportunities and objectives for each of our three member cities in the West Plains area (Airway Heights, Cheney, & Medical Lake). The Chamber brings together professionals to provide a strategy that will ensure the economic vitality of the West Plains area.
